New Addition
Well, its been WAY too long since we posted anything to this blog. The “new normal” is becomming just normal. That is a good thing, but limits you on things that are new or interesting to post on a blog. See anything new in the picture above? Her name is Ye Rin (Kim) Kim. She is a Korean student that is attending Round Rock Christian with Victoria and Emma. Her host situation...

Summer is Almost Gone
I can’t believe that the kids start school in two weeks. This summer has flown by. Victoria had a great time with being on a team for our Back Yard Bible clubs from church. She actually had the incredible privilege of leading a little girl to Christ. She witnessed some amazing things in East Austin, which is our rough side of town. She will be in 9th grade this year. I can’t believe...

Gotcha Day Anniversary!
We can’t believe that we went to Africa one year ago this week to get our boys and bring them home. Yesterday was the one year mark of when we picked the boys up from the Transition Home and the boys have been with us ever since. I fixed Levi’s favorite meal last night- pork ribs (pig as he calls it), mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. We followed that up with ice cream sundaes....

Past, Present & Future
As we approach the one year anniversary of meeting our boys and bringing them home, we have spent alot of time lately reflecting on all that has transpired in the past year. So much change has taken place that it is hard to comprehend how fast we have bonded as a family and grown personally. They bring so much joy and laughter and excitement into our family, it is weird to think of life before...

Haiti Trip
Below are photos from my Haiti trip. Below the photos is a blog entry of my trip. I will try to post all my photos on my facebook page.
Haiti
Sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up, but I’ve been busy since my return from Haiti. I was blessed to be asked to go with our Senior Pastor, Tim Hawks, and our Executive Pastor, Bob King, to Haiti. We left on February 9th and flew through Ft. Lauderdale. We took a charter twin engine plane from Ft. Lauderdale to Port-au-Prince on the morning of the 10th. We went directly to...
Bruised, but Blessed
I am starting to think that God put the Redding family on this Earth to make everyone else feel better about themselves and their circumstances. There’s always the thought, “Well, it could be worse, like what the Reddings are going through.” Joking aside, God is really shaping our hearts in 2010. David did not come back from Haiti on Saturday. He actually returned to Austin...
You're Going Where?
We are hanging in there with all of life’s business. Victoria has volleyball practices on Monday and Tuesday nights. Emma has physical therapy on Wednesdays and Fridays after school. Asher had his dental appointment this morning and has a beautiful new smile. They put tooth colored caps over his two front teeth, which she filled the cavities first and then covered the brown staining he...

Never a Dull Moment
I finally got the opportunity to have a girls weekend at the ranch with some friends. It was wonderful! We watched movies, played games, talked, and laughed alot. We even stayed in our pajamas for a whole day on Saturday. There was no fussing and whining, and I didn’t have people asking me every 5 seconds to do something for them. Unfortunately, the dream ended when I fell and broke my...
One Year Ago
It was at this time last year, that we had just turned down a referral for a boy and a girl ages 3 and 7. We knew after one day of prayer that those were not the children that God had chosen for us. We didn’t even look at their pictures. We were waiting for another referral. That 2nd referral came on January 29th. I will never forget opening the attachment from Terra and seeing our...
Happy New Year
Wow! 2009 has been so exciting, that we can’t wait to see what is in store for 2010. What a year! It was definitely the most emotional year we have ever had. Christmas was fantastic! We were able to be at our home this year. So, the boys slept in their own beds and woke up to their first Christmas. Everyone went a little overboard this year, since it was their first Chrstmas. I am not...

So Thankful
So sorry for the lapse in time between entries. Things are very busy around here. Emma is doing great after her surgery. She goes to the Dr. tomorrow for a 2 week post-op visit. We are hoping he will take the cast off then. If not, she will wear it for one more week. Then, she will move on to a boot that she can put weight on and walk on. This will also allow for showers instead of just...

Rodeo or Circus
We’re thinking that maybe we should have titled this blog the Redding Circus. On the Sunday before last, David and I were settling in for our Sunday nap. This tradition has been established since our first year of marriage. The boys were asleep and the girls were doing homework. Now, we take nap time very seriously. If you are going to do it right, you must get down to your...
Halloween
The day the boys thought would never arrive, finally came on Saturday. I don’t think they thought we were serious when we told them that all they had to do was dress up in costume, knock on the doors of people we don’t know, say trick-or-treat and they would get FREE candy. However, after the first house, I could see it in Mamush’s eyes, I love America! It was a dream come...

Fall is Here
We are enjoying our Fall weather. I spent four hours today trying to find gloves or mittens that would fit Seto. I finally found some at Ross, and they came with a matching ski cap. He loves his glubs. We were walking into the second store and he was telling me that we were going to buy his glubs in there. I told him that I didn’t know if they had them or not, he said, “Well...
