Bruised, but Blessed
I am starting to think that God put the Redding family on this Earth to make everyone else feel better about themselves and their circumstances. There’s always the thought, “Well, it could be worse, like what the Reddings are going through.” Joking aside, God is really shaping our hearts in 2010. David did not come back from Haiti on Saturday. He actually returned to Austin at 1:00 a.m. on Monday. So, I was at the ranch by myself with 6 kids. Not good! Victoria and Emma’s best friend, Natasha, were in a 4-wheeler accident. They are o.k, but very banged up and bruised. Natasha received 10 stitches on her jaw and chipped some back teeth. Victoria chipped a piece of bone off of her upper arm above the elbow. Volleyball is over for awhile. Her tailbone is very sore. The result of this accident could have been much worse. We are praising God for protecting these precious girls’ lives. I never want to go through that again. Praise God for speaking to me in the middle of that crisis and telling me who to call and ask for help. Even though I was by myself, God provided a number of people to be there with me. We have all learned a huge lesson from this experience. I will never go to the ranch with kiddos by myself, again. More than likely, no without David. I do realize that I depend too much on David. God wants me to depend on Him. David can’t always be there.
David had a life-changing experience in Haiti. He actually gave a power-point presentation at work today. He will post something about the experience, very soon.
