Summer is Here
Well as you can tell, life it getting busy and the routine is ruling our lives. We can’t believe that June is almost over and we are rocking along with all kinds of activities.
Victoria has been playing in a Monday night volleyball league with her school team and doing well. She had a great trip to Canada and posted a lot of good photos on her Facebook page, friend her to get a peak. Can’t believe, but she actually laid on the floor of the CN tower - second tallest building in the world, which doesn’t sound like a big deal until you know that the floor is made of GLASS! Freaks me out just thinking about it.
Emma has gotten the all clear on both feet. This 8 month long ordeal appears to be over and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her. She was a real trooper and it has paid of. She is no longer feeling pain in her knees or hips and will be 100% for volleyball this Fall. She is started to really develop a close relationship with Levi. The both spent the night, just the two of them, at Nana and Papa’s house this past week. Emma finally had her birthday celebration this past weekend. We rented a room at the Marriott in La Frontera and she had 5 or 6 of her school mates come to swim in the pool at the hotel and have cake and ice cream. Then she asked Victoria to stay and spend the night with her and Nancy. Good girls bonding time. I had the boys and we had fun too!
Levi is playing soccer this summer with a 9-10 year old group. We were a little concerned that he would be well behind in skills with kids that have been playing for 5 or 6 years, but that proved to be very misplaced worry. Levi has been playing street ball soccer for many years and is very aggressive. The coach is from Brazil and knows the game of soccer. He was very excited to see Levi and is not concerned with his aggressive play. He has done well in the two games he has played in and will continue to improve. He is adapting well to life in the US and is just one of our kids now. Hard to remember life with him or his brother. He told Nancy they other day that he really loves being here and likes being part of a family. Cool stuff.
Asher is a joy. He is always happy and most of the time does everything he can to please everyone. He is also playing soccer and doing well. This is when having a big brother that you’ve been fighting all your life for the soccer ball comes in handy. The other kids and the coach don’t really know what to do with him. There is one other boy on the team that is just as fast and has skills. If the coach would put them in at different times, we believe things would go better for the team, but they’ve crushed every team they’ve played by 5 to 10 goals. He said the funniest thing the other day. We were at Nancy’s folks lakehouse for father’s day and Rick, Nancy’s dad, saw all four grandkids at the table together. He walked over and in his deep “pastor’s” voice said how much he love the kids and was so happy that they came out to see he and Sharon. After he finished, Asher said, “in Jesus name, Amen”. He thoughts Rick was praying! It was classic.
Nancy and I are doing our best to keep this Rodeo going forward. Teaching God’s truth to the kids and each other, getting everyone to doctor, practice, friends, birthday party, etc. Nancy is so awesome and I love her so much for all she does for me and these kids. She is a machine and God is gifted her so perfectly for the role she is playing. It is amazing (and tiring) to watch.
Sorry we are not getting a post out every week or so, but life is rocking along for the Reddings, Blessings,
David
